05/08/2025|DMG MORI Open House Bielefeld

Future-proof production with Turn & Mill expertise from Bielefeld

At this year's in-house exhibition in Bielefeld, DMG MORI will be providing insights into the world of modern machine tool technology and an outlook on the production of the future. From May 20 to 23, 2025, the traditional plant and Turn & Mill Competence Center will open its doors to present 21 high-tech machines and their functions in the context of Machining Transformation (MX) on an exhibition area of around 1,600 m². Highlights of the exhibition include the NLX 2500|700 2. Generation with CELOS X, the CTX beta 450 TC with integrated loading and unloading device and the DMU 60 eVo 2. Generation for highly dynamic 5-axis simultaneous milling. In addition, numerous automation solutions will be on display, including the Robo2Go in various versions, the PH Cell 800 modular pallet handling system and the WH Cell 25 as a flexible workpiece handling system. DMG MORI will round off the program of its in-house exhibition with exciting presentations and workshops on pioneering trends in process integration, automation and programming. Plant tours through the Turn & Mill assembly also offer an exclusive look behind the scenes of the traditional plant. DMQP partners such as HAIMER, Fuchs, Horn and SolidCAM will inform visitors about their innovative solutions for the entire periphery of machine tools.

Tradition and progress in Bielefeld: Innovative turn & mill solutions for the future

Experts from development, sales, service and, of course, application technology will be available to customers during the in-house exhibition in Bielefeld for in-depth discussions - to answer questions, develop ideas and open up new perspectives.

DMG MORI Bielefeld has long since developed into a competence center for turning and milling within the Group. A well-thought-out product portfolio impressively underlines this position. The CLX TC series offers an easy entry into turn-mill machining with the well-known B-axis factor - a clear added value compared to conventional turret lathes. The CTX TC models go one step further: with 360° technology integration at the highest level, they enable turning, milling, gear cutting, grinding and measuring in one work area. This is complemented by powerful 5-axis simultaneous machining. The Bielefeld site is also a driving force when it comes to automation: the Robo2Go series offers a flexible and intuitive automation solution for small and medium-sized batches. Digital tools are increasingly becoming the focus of integrated manufacturing solutions. 3D Shopfloor Programming, OP Workbench and numerous exclusive DMG MORI technology cycles simplify the creation of sophisticated NC programs - efficiently and practically.

As DMG MORI's traditional production site, Bielefeld offers the perfect environment for an in-house exhibition that shows much more than just modern machine tools. The focus here is on personal exchange: experts from development, sales, service and, of course, application technology are available to customers for intensive discussions - to answer questions, think ahead with ideas and open up new perspectives. "Our aim is not just to present innovations, but to work together with our customers to develop the best solutions for their production," emphasizes Harry Junger, Managing Director of DMG MORI Bielefeld. "That's why we see the in-house exhibition as an ongoing invitation - for continuous dialog and constant inspiration."

NLX 2500|700: Success machine rethought - for maximum performance and efficiency

The completely redesigned NLX 2500|700 2. Generation sets new standards in 6-sided complete machining of workpieces up to ø 366 x 708 mm

The completely redesigned NLX 2500|700 2. Generation sets new standards in 6-sided complete machining of workpieces up to ø 366 x 708 mm. The Y-axis of +/- 60 mm, its outstanding thermal stability and increased turning and milling performance make this new development the ideal choice for demanding production tasks. At its heart are the powerful MASTER spindles with up to 1,273 Nm torque, supplemented by an optionally scalable counter spindle. The integrated BMT turret with up to 20 tool stations, 12,000 rpm and 100 Nm also guarantees maximum productivity - supported by robust slideways in all axes. In the process, the GREENMODE system reduces energy consumption, while optimized solutions for coolant and chip management ensure maximum process reliability. With the Plug & Play automation interface and the new ERGOline X control panel, the machine is also perfectly equipped for automated series operation - intuitive, efficient and uncompromisingly powerful.

CTX beta 450 TC: Productive 6-sided complete machining with 360° technology integration

CTX beta 450 TC - 5-axis simultaneous machining, 5-in-1 technology integration and 6-sided complete machining ensure precision, flexibility and productivity.

The CTX beta 450 TC stands for user-friendliness, efficiency, technology and flexible automation options. This makes it the ideal companion for the production of the future. The new control generation with CELOS X enables simple, app-based end-to-end workflows and offers the operator innovations such as the OPWorkbench for simpler and structured NC programming. 5-axis simultaneous machining, 5-in-1 technology integration and 6-sided complete machining also ensure precision, flexibility and productivity. The work area offers space for workpieces with a diameter of up to ø 400 mm and a length of up to 1,100 mm. The bar capacity is ø 76 mm or optionally ø 102 mm for the main and counter spindles. At the heart of the new model is the compactMASTER turn-mill spindle with a speed of 15,000 rpm as standard and 20,000 rpm as an option. The main and counter spindles achieve speeds of up to 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 720 Nm. The high performance of the CTX beta 450 TC is also reflected in the rapid traverse speeds of up to 50 m/min.

DMU 60 eVo 2. Generation: Revolution in highly dynamic 5-axis simultaneous machining

With the DMU 60 eVo 2. Generation, DMG MORI is setting new standards in 5-axis universal machining and a milestone for precision and productivity. Based on the unique table kinematics, the proven machine concept has been fundamentally further developed to meet the increasing demands for precision, dynamics and flexibility. This is why the DMU 60 eVo 2. Generation successfully utilizes DMG MORI's Machining Transformation (MX) concept: The machine integrates manufacturing processes such as mill-turn machining, gear hobbing using the gearSKIVING technology cycle and grinding. This process integration transforms the DMU 60 eVo 2. Generation into a multifunctional machining solution that can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of requirements and industries and exploits the full potential of future-oriented machining technology. Intelligent automation solutions optimize machine utilization around the clock if required. Modern control options - a SINUMERIK One and a HEIDENHAIN TNC 7 - on CELOS X pave the way for Digital Transformation (DX).

Transformation of CNC manufacturing through process integration, automation, digitization and sustainability

The machines on show at the in-house exhibition in Bielefeld and the comprehensive supporting program represent what DMG MORI is driving forward with Machining Transformation (MX): the future of manufacturing. The guiding principle is based on four collaborative pillars: process integration combines technologies such as turning, milling, grinding and measuring in one machine. Visitors to the CTX beta 450 TC and the NTX 500 can experience live how throughput times can be reduced and product quality increased. The Robo2Go with pallet station on the first turn-mill center and a PH Cell 800 on the DMU 85 monoBLOCK 2. Generation will demonstrate how automation solutions can implement 24/7 production and maximize spindle running times. Process reliability through sensor-based solutions is an exemplary topic of Digital Transformation (DX). CELOS X widgets visualize technology cycles, while the MPC (Machine Protection Control) protects the machine - a perfect synergy of process integration and simple operation. The focus on these three pillars also favors the fourth, the Green Transformation (GX) towards sustainable and economical production. DMG MORI also reduces the carbon footprint of production with energy-efficient components such as the adaptive coolant supply.
