Kojiro Shiraishi started his solo training on 9th of June to prepare for the upcoming race and his big goal – the Vendée Globe 2020. The Vendée Globe, together with the IMOCA class, announced that the race around the globe will start on 8th November 2020. Both parties will do everything possible to create a safe environment for the start.
Kojiro Shiraishi and the DMG MORI Global One successfully returned to Lorient on 16th June after having covered 2,100 nautical miles on their own. The solo training extended from Lorient to the northern point of the Azores Islands – and back. Now he is ready to tackle the first race, the Vendée-Arctic-Les Sables d'Olonne, on our DMG MORI Global One on 4th July 2020.
The solo training was a great success not only for him, but for the whole DMG MORI SAILING TEAM. After the successful solo training and the technical "go", the team is ready for the Vendée-Arctic-Les Sables d'Olonne and for the final goal, the Vendée Globe 2020.
