Highly productive universal turning with two turrets
With more power, precision, flexibility and efficiency, the sixth generation of the CTX series paves the way for Machining Transformation (MX), with which DMG MORI is shaping the future of manufacturing.
The latest generation of CTX line turning centers impresses with a compact design and a larger working area with the smaller footprint. In the case of the new CTX 350 4A, this is just 7 m². The CTX 350 4A has two VDI30 turrets with a total of up to 28 tool positions. The driven tools achieve speeds of up to 12,000 rpm and a torque of up to 14 Nm. It is equipped with a left-hand spindle (ISM 65), which operates at up to 5,500 rpm and 171 Nm, and a right-hand spindle (ISM 50). This one offers a speed of 6,000 rpm and a torque of 93 Nm. Both turrets can be used separately on both spindles as well as simultaneously on one spindle. The versatile CTX 350 4A therefore enables highly productive 6-sided complete machining of workpieces up to ø 230 x 100 mm with a Y-axis travel of +/- 50 mm. The bar capacity is ø 65 mm and the connection for bar loading is in the standard configuration of the machine. Efficient chip removal and state-of-the-art components for fast, precise and reliable performance make the CTX 350 4A a valuable helper in any future-oriented production facility. The 24” control panel with CELOS X on Siemens gives the machine a high degree of connectivity for digitized production. Alternatively, the CTX 350 4A is available with a FANUC control.
Positioning accuracy up to 6 μm and automated handling
The CTX 350 4A meets the high precision requirements in universal turning with an integrated cooling concept that minimizes thermal deviations. On the other hand, direct scales from MAGNESCALE guarantee a high positioning accuracy of 6 μm in the two X-axes, in the Y-axis and optionally also in the Z-axis. Flexible automation solutions such as the Robo2Go also contribute to the high accuracy because they eliminate manual reclamping processes. The CTX 350 4A already offers an integrated CNC-controlled arm for part removal by gripping finger and conveyor belt as standard. It is designed for workpieces weighting up to 3 kg with a maximum component size of ø 65 x 100 mm.
Increased efficiency for the green transformation (GX)
In addition to integrated production processes, a large number of DMG MORI technology cycles and automation solutions for autonomous production, measures to increase efficiency also play a decisive role. The GREENMODE reduces the energy consumption of the CTX 350 4A by ten percent. It includes CELOS Apps for energy monitoring and auto shutdown, for example. Efficient spindle motors also have a positive effect on energy efficiency. In addition, the machine has a reduced consumption for hydraulic and cooling fluids. With these and other measures, DMG MORI is making a decisive contribution to the Green Transformation (GX), which completes the Machining Transformation (MX) concept.
