Digital factory, integral automation solutions and technology excellence – DMG MORI will be showcasing its complete range of manufacturing competence at the traditional DECKEL MAHO Pfronten Open House from 30. January to 3. February 2018. On over 8.500 m² of exhibition space the leader of technology will be presenting 70 high-tech machines including the new NTX 3000 as a world premiere as well as innovative manufacturing processes such as ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING with a total of three complete process chains. With the DMG MORI Qualified Products (DMQP) the machine tool manufacturer offers perfectly matched peripherals and accessories for production and with VCS Complete a new technology cycle is launches for volumetric compensation and automatic calibration.
DMG MORI Path of Digitization
The digital transformation in machine tool manufacturing will also be one of the key issues at the DMG MORI Open House in Pfronten. The presentation on the exhibition will consistently pursue the Path of Digitization in Pfronten. The digital transformation follows a bottom-up strategy from the CELOS machine on to CELOS manufacturing and right through to the digital factory.
End-to-end solutions for the digital factory
First presented at the EMO, digital workflows for data-supported production planning and automated tool management have meanwhile undergone fine tuning. They will be available for customers as CELOS apps as early as the first half of the year. Other digital focus topics include the continuous expansion of the monitoring possibilities for optimising processes and production as well as the digital products and services. Embedded in the new manufacturer-neutral IIoT platform ADAMOS, DMG MORI offers its customers and suppliers integral and open end-to-end digitisation solutions.
Automated production: Integral solutions for the production of the future
Automation solutions are gaining in importance in efficient manufacturing. DMG MORI supports this development by ensuring all machines from its diverse portfolio can be delivered from a single source ex works as either a standard automation or as a customised automation solution. “Our overall performance spectrum ranges from the planning and simulation and on right through to final hand over of the complete turnkey system”, explains Markus Rehm, Managing Director of DECKEL MAHO Seebach GmbH and DMG MORI HEITEC GmbH, a DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT and HEITEC AG joint venture. The intelligent integration of the machine tool and automation takes place at the production locations of DMG MORI to ensure customers receive an integral automation concept from a single source.
DMG MORI Technology Excellence: 50 years of experience in Aerospace and Die & Mold
At DECKEL MAHO Pfronten DMG MORI bundles its entire manufacturing competence in both the aerospace sector and the field of die & mold. In its respective DMG MORI Technology Excellence Centers the machine tool manufacturer offers its customers far more than just high-tech machines and performance. Experienced experts from DMG MORI are being involved in the future projects of customers at a very earlier stage. This means path-breaking production processes and complete turnkey solutions can be developed in close collaboration with the customers. “As a full-service provider we supply the entire spectrum of required components with our machines – from the smallest electrodes in tool and mold construction right through to the XXL components needed in the aerospace industry”, emphasizes Markus Piber, Managing Director of DECKEL MAHO Pfronten GmbH.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING: Three complete process chains for powder bed and powder nozzle
DMG MORI has been successful on the market for over four years now with its integral combination of laser deposition welding and machining on the machines in the LASERTEC 3D hybrid series. This is the basis on which DMG MORI has long established itself as a full-liner in additive manufacturing and with which it has rounded off its portfolio. While the LASERTEC 65 3D serves to supplement an existing machine park of machining centres where it is used solely for laser deposition welding, the LASERTEC SLM series expands the range to include the powder bed method using selective laser melting.
Complete solution for ADDITIVE MANUNFACTURING in the powder bed
On the market for additive systems for selective laser melting, the LASERTEC SLM impresses with its high level of process reliability and efficiency. Its flexible powder module enables a powder changeover in less than two hours. With its CELOS SLM DMG MORI offers an integral software solution for CAM programming and machine control from a single source and with a uniform user interface. Thanks to the coordinated and uniform user interface components can be programmed and the data immediately transferred to the machine in the shortest possible time – regardless of the complexity of the parts.
DMQP: Perfectly matched peripherals and accessories from a single source
Measuring equipment, tool holders and handling systems are just three examples of peripheral products and devices from external suppliers with which DMG MORI rounds off its manufacturing solutions. These and other components are oriented on the high quality of CNC machines. The machine tool manufacturer uses the DMG MORI Qualified Products (DMQP) programme to define its high demand on quality. Such criteria include internal certification of the products, their price consistency and the respective warranties.
NTX 3000: Complex Turn & Mill machining with a large working area
DMG MORI presents a new size in its high-performance turn mill centres with its NTX 3000. As is the case with its sister models, the core of this centre is also the compactMASTER turn & mill spindle with a length of 350 mm and a 122 Nm torque. The main spindle with its 12" chuck offers a speed of 3000 rpm and a maximum torque of 1,194 Nm. The direct drive B-axis enables efficient 5-axis simultaneous machining of complex workpieces, while the X-axis with a travel path of -125 mm below the spindle centre guarantees maximum flexibility. CELOS with MAPPS on FANUC and CELOS with SIEMENS are available as controls.
