Unparalleled accuracies are the be-all and end-all when it comes to the topic of the DIXI series. Exceptional machining centers are created under unique conditions in Le Locle, Switzerland, centers that can produce even large components with diameters up to 3,000 mm, heights of 1,600 mm and weighing up to 12,000 kg with volumetric accuracies in the µm range. With the DIXI 125 DMG MORI now offers the ideal solution for smaller components.
The DIXI series achieves these impressive results through the symbiosis of excellent machine engineering, manual scraping of the guideways and perfect production conditions. Innovative cooling concepts include, among other things, completely water-cooled feed drives and guide contact surfaces to ensure absolute thermal stability. In addition, acceleration rates of up to 6 m/s² and rapid traverses of 60 m/min provide the DIXI machines with the dynamics necessary to manufacture sophisticated precision components productively.
DMG MORI has extended the high-precision machining centers in the DIXI series to include the smaller DIXI 125 for workpieces with diameters up to 1.250 mm. Like its bigger sister models, this world premiere also impresses with its unparalleled volumetric accuracy. The basis for this are the manually scraped guide contact surfaces with flatness and straightness values of 3 µm when mounted and a perfect machine structure that makes it possible to limit geometric tolerances by up to 80 percent. Positioning accuracy in the X-, Y- and Z-directions are 4 µm, 3 µm and 4 µm respectively and 4 arc seconds for the B- and C-axes. Volumetric accuracy is not measured until the machines are installed on site and is less than 15 µm. Users can get this impressive degree of accuracy for an additional price of around just 20 percent compared to standard machining centers in this class.
