The Ulyanovsk Machine Tools plant is a reliable supplier of high-tech machine tools produced by DMG MORI in Russia and for Russia.

A modern manufacturing plant in Ulyanovsk provides DMG MORI Group not only with the status of a local manufacturer, but also a leader in innovations on the Russian market. Since the Grand Opening of the Ulyanovsk Machine Tools plant in 2015, the Russian manufacturing site has been developing more and more successfully every year: its own park of machining centers, a full-cycle assembly line technology with stationary assembly at stations and flowline assembly, equipped with the up-to-date noncontact conveyor, the production and repair of spindles for locally produced machine tools, the spare parts warehouse, retrofit services for DMG MORI machine tools.

In 2018, DMG MORI began to assemble spindles at the Ulyanovsk Machine Tools plant. Assembly and repair of spindles are carried out for the production of the ecoline machine tools

STATUS OF LOCAL PRODUCER

Local manufacturer status

Since July 17, 2014 the Ulyanovsk Machine Tools has been a member of the Russian Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers “Stankoinstrument”.

A special investment contract between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region and DMG MORI Ulyanovsk Machine Tools was signed on September 30, 2016. The contract provides the company with the status of a Russian manufacturer and equal competitive conditions for working with Russian companies in the machine tools market of the Russian Federation.

  • Localization of components: 70 % of domestic components in ecoline series machine tools by 2021
  • Development strategy of the research and design department: development of Russian engineering competences in the field of equipment and software products

In March 2020 the Ulyanovsk Machine Tools plant confirmed the compliance of the work management system with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2015. The ISO 9001 certificate is an indisputable achievement and evidence that the quality management system at the plant is implemented and effectively functioning. The involvement of employees and the leading position of the plant management became a solid foundation for building our own quality management system. The audit was conducted by SGS – the world's leading inspection and certification company. All stages of the ISO 9001 compliance audit aimed at assessing the readiness and operability of the processes, were passed perfectly. This stage in the development of the DMG MORI plant in Ulyanovsk is further confirmation of the quality and high competitiveness of the products.
